Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., where funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Raymond Slonaker and James Matheny presiding. Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Mary A. Stutler, 95, of formerly of Philippi, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018. She was born in Lodgeville, Harrison County, on July 29, 1922, the daughter of the late James M. and Georgie Slonaker Snider.

 

She was married to Ogden S. “Danny” Stutler on July 6, 1940, who preceded her in death on April 28, 2003.

 

Surviving are her two sons, Larry O. Stutler and his wife Kathy of Radcliff, KY, and Randall N. Stutler of Jane Lew; five grandchildren, Michelle Waldo and her husband Richard of Salt Lake City, UT, Richard “Scott” Stutler and his wife Kristie of Louisville, KY; Jessica Daniel George and her husband Mark of O’Fallon, IL, Katherine Brooke Longo and her husband Michael of Conway, AR, and Dani Marie Strickland and her husband Jason of Bristol, FL; and 13 great grandchildren, Josh and Amanda Stutler, Andrea, Kara and Abby George, Jackson, Christian, Michael Jr., Trent and Nick Longo, and Jack, Blaine and Blake Stirckland.

 

Mary was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having also been preceded in death by her seven brothers, Leonard, Charles, Richard “Vance”, Joseph, James, Clarence and Franklin.
Mary loved the Lord, her family, friends and music. She was also known to her many friends and fans of radio and television as “Mary Lee” of “Mary Lee and Danny” who played and sang country & western music from the mid 40’s to the early 50’s. Later they played and sang gospel music throughout the tri-state area into the mid 90’s. Mary was a born again Christian and was a member of the Nutter Fort Union Mission Church in Nutter Fort.
