Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, WV on Tuesday from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. where a Rebekah/Oddfellows Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Johnny Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Salem, WV. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Carolyn’s memory to the Clarksburg Honor Flight, 420 W Pike Street, Clarksburg, WV, 26301. Checks payable to “Honor Flight North Central West Virginia”. Or online through the Honor Flight of North Central West Virginia website.

Carolyn Sue Hardman Stewart, 83, of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday night, June 11, 2026, while in the United Hospital Center.

Carolyn was born on May 28, 1943, in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Hotty Hardman Jr. and Marie Adams Hardman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Paul Stewart, who passed on February 11, 2016. They were wed on November 3, 1960.

She is survived by her three children, Debbie Glaspell of Clarksburg, Randy Stewart and his wife Kelly of Fairview, and Bobby Stewart and his wife Mary Ann of Weston; nine grandchildren, J.T. Mossor and his wife Emily of NC, Kimberly Middleton and her husband Matt of Bridgeport, Kayla Greene and her husband Evan of Morgantown, David Stewart of DE, Justin Stewart of DE, Andrew Stewart of Morgantown, Katie DePue and her husband Blayne of Morgantown, Natalie Stewart of Weston, and Arayoh Stewart of Weston; Doug Dodd of Clarksburg who was like a son; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; sisters, Dotty Ergenzinger of DE, and Linda Deem and her husband Ronnie of GA; sister-in-law, Pam Hardman of NC; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Stewart; son-in-law, Leland Glaspell; two brothers, Charles “Bud” Hardman and James “Jimmy” Hardman; and brother-in-law, Frank Ergenzinger.

Carolyn was a graduate of Roosevelt-Wilson High School Class of 1961. She retired from Walmart in 1998 where she was a customer service representative. She was a member of the Ivy Rebekah Lodge #112 since 1971, as well as the Adamston Oddfellows Lodge #263. She was also a member of the East View United Methodist Church. She was a die-hard Alan Jackson fan and loved to cheer on her favorite basketball team, The Duke Blue Devils. She was also an avid WVU sports fan.
