Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Monday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Glaspell presiding.   Interment will follow in the Hepzibah Cemetery.  The St. John Lodge #24 AF&AM will meet at the funeral home for the purpose of attending and conducting Masonic graveside rites.

Albert W. “Bud” Sheaffer, 85, of Spelter, WV, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at his residence, suddenly.

 

He was born in Clarksburg, WV, on April 15, 1934, a son of the late Harry and Gertrude Craig Sheaffer.

 

Mr. Sheaffer is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara Golden Sheaffer, whom he married on October 26, 1981.

 

He is also survived by his son, Ronald “Buddy” Sheaffer and wife Tina of Spelter; his daughter Debbie Vawter of Yerington, NV; step-daughters, Marilyn Flanigan and husband Charles of Doddridge County, and Machelle Murray and husband Paul of Corona, CA; step-son, Michael Bosley of Clarksburg; three grandchildren, Bruce Vawter, Tiffany Vawter, and Steven Vawter; nine step-grandchildren, Erica Walls, Joshua Walls, Derek Flanigan, Shannon Flanigan, Michael Bosley, Jr., David, Bosley, Scott, Bosley, Shawna Bosley and Jody Umber; 12 great-grandchildren, Victoria, Abigail, Chase, Hydi, Tucker, Maggie, Remi, Jaden, Levi, Michael, Jaden, Jazzy and Chamberlyn; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Sheaffer and Raymond Sheaffer; five sisters, Freda Patterson, Joy Arco, Pat Weaver, Marie Gray, and Midge Pettigrew.

 

Bud worked for Barbour Coal, and was a veteran in the U.S. Marine Corp.  He was a 55-year member of the St. John #24 AF&AM Masonic Lodge.  He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason with membership in the Wheeling Body and was a member of the Nemisis Shrine of Parkersburg Temple and the Mini Corvette Unit of Clarksburg.

 

Bud was Baptist by faith, a hard worker, and above all a prince of a man.
