Robert Fay “Bob” Starr II, 75, of Mt. Clare, West Virginia, passed away at his residence on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Born on June 9, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bob was the son of the late Robert F. Starr and Alma L. Polon Starr.

He is survived by his loving partner, Christopher Mote of Mt. Clare; his sister, Beth Ann Starr of Mt. Clare; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A 1969 graduate of South Harrison High School, Bob continued his education at Fairmont State College, where he earned a degree in Education. Throughout his career, he shared his passion for learning by teaching at Notre Dame High School and later on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico.

Bob will be remembered for his exceptional cooking, his remarkable knowledge of history, and his unwavering kindness. A walking encyclopedia with a quick wit and generous heart, he was always ready to listen, offer support, or share a laugh. To many, he was a steady source of strength and comfort. He also had a deep love for animals, which reflected the compassion he showed throughout his life.

In accordance with his wishes, Bob will be cremated. A memorial service celebrating his life will be announced at a later date.
