Mary Ann Daniel Singleton, 86, is at rest with her Savior. She is the daughter of Annie Barnett and Edmond Daniel, born June 29, 1940, in Steubenville, Ohio.
She was joined in marriage to Richard Singleton on Valentines Day, February 14, 1959, by the late Henry C. Gregory Jr., Pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, of which she was a lifelong member. They remained married for 47 years until Richard’s passing on May 25, 2006.
She attended the Kelly Miller School through 10th Grade and graduated from Washington Irving High School in 1958. After 22 years of dedicated service, Mary retired from the Harrison County Board of Education in June 2002. She worked as a special education teacher’s aide at Bridgeport Middle School and was a Golden Apple Award recipient. Her previous employment included Dr. Hall and Dr. Marks’ Pediatricians Office, Hazel-Atlas Glass Co., and Parsons-Souders. In her later years, Mary enjoyed taking bus trips to the Meadows Casino, playing bingo, attending elimination dinners, and walking until she could no longer. She loved and spoiled her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Richard, Jr. (Buster), her brothers Charles (Bodgie) and Anthony Daniel, and her sisters Marva Daniel and Catherine Brooks.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Toni Singleton, Carmela Sulton, and Mark Singleton; her grandchildren, Aaron White, Nikita and Zachary Singleton, Christian Sulton, Kerastyn Acres, and K-La Singleton; her great-grandchildren, Aman, Amari, and Zoë, Lamanii, Shean, Dean, Mikey, and Nelson; her sister, Eva Hall; her daughters-in-law, Renee and Danielle; her son-in-law, Derek; nieces Lacey Brooks and Anna Daniel; and her many dearly loved nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and cherished friends.
