Patty, My condolences to you and your family. I just learned of Charlie\'s passing, and am remembering him today with love and lots of smiles. He adopted me when I was a WVU coliseum \"rat\" working for U92 and The Mountaineer Sports Network. He would bring me soup when I was sick and always met me with a great story. When I graduated and moved away, we talked every few months, and he always kept up with what I was doing. As I married had a family, the time between our conversations grew longer. I\'ve never forgotten Charlie, or his kindness toward me. He was dearly loved by everyone with whom he came in contact. I will miss knowing that he\'s just a phone call away.

Patty: Sending the deepest of condolences to you and your family. May God provide His comfort and peace during this time of sorrow. God bless. The Stumpo Family ~ Psalm 23

Charlie always made us smile and gave the best hugs. Even when we moved away, he remained a very special person in our lives. Our kids knew Charlie thru pictures we would show them and talk about Charlie often. Our oldest son still sleeps with the yellow teddy bear charlie gave him as a baby. We are proud to have named our second son Charlie after and in honor of Charlie. He was a special man! May God comfort and give you peace during this time.

The song is "The Greatest Man I Never Knew", but in thousands of lives that went through Liberty alone, it should be "The Greatest Man We all Knew".

What a sweet & kind man - he always greeted me with a smile and took the time to talk to me @ Liberty High School ! I continued to see him, as others did, at Bonnie Bell's bakery - always wanting to know what I was up to...I was blessed to know him! ??????

What a grand gentleman and a friend to so many - I feel so fortunate to have gotten to know him and his many gifts of friendship and hospitality over so many years - the angels of Heaven will be feasting on Bonnie Bell cakes from here on out, and won't Jim Mearns and so many of our other friends be happy to see him! Much love to your family

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. I knew and worked with Charlie for about 6 years in the 1950's. We worked at Imperial Ice Cream where he delivered milk. So sorry for your loss. Charlie was a very good person. Ruby Casto

I'm sorry I never had the pleasure of meetin Mr. Lindsay. I recognized his name because I have corresponded occasionally with his sister, Delores Gribble Martin. His grandmother and mine were sisters (Betty Williams Wood and Verona Williams Eubank). From the way his obituary reads he was a hard working man who was always in service to others. May he rest in peace after his long wonderful life.

We met him at Liberty High School and he was truly a great man. He always had time to stop and talk and check on how our family was doing. He will be missed.
