Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, and Sunday from 12:00 to 8:00 pm. Rev. Carson will be taken to the Sardis Baptist church to lie in state for one hour prior to the service, which will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10:30am with Reverend Gary Layfield and Reverend James Loar officiating. Interment will be in the WV National Cemetery where full military graveside rites will be accorded.

Frank Michael Carson, 69, of Wallace, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018.

 

He was born on March 11, 1949, a son of the late Roy Price and Lorena May Ford Carson.

 

He is survived by his wife, Susan Carol Thomas Carson, whom he married August 16, 1968.

 

Also surviving are two daughters, Michela Marie Carson Pauley and her husband David Michael of Clarksburg, and Heather Dawn Carson Leitch and her husband Richard Earl of Ontario, Canada; four grandchildren, Haleigh Marie Pauley, Phillip Michael Pauley, Ryan Carson Leitch, and Regan Elizabeth Leitch, and Kody Andrew Crippin whom he thought of as a grandson; one sister, Leona Mae Ball and her husband Danny of Barbour County; two nephews, Spc. Andrew Ball and his wife Lacey currently deployed, and Benjamin Ball of Morgantown; one niece, Becky Cain of Charleston; a special Aunt Dottie Gaskins of Doddridge County; and his Uncle Bill Hyde of Doddridge County. He was also preceded in death by two siblings, John W. (Johnny) Carson and Doris Carson Burnside.

 

Frank was a 1967 graduate of Doddridge County High School and was a United States Air Force Veteran having served in the Philippines and Germany during the Vietnam War specializing in communications. Following his service to our country he obtained a business degree. He began preaching in 1970. He preached at many churches throughout the Harrison and Doddridge County areas and was currently a minister at the Sardis Baptist Church.
