Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Wednesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Greg Blevins presiding.   Interment will be held in the West Virginia National Cemetery where full military graveside rites will be accorded, at a day and time to be announced.

James Alexander “Bud” Guy, 80, of Salem, WV, passed away on June 10, 2018, at his residence following an extended illness.

 

He was born in Grafton, WV, on August 13, 1936, a son of the late James and Leona May Guy.

 

Bud is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy Scarff Guy, whom he married on June 23, 1962.

 

Also surviving are two sons, David Guy of Wolf Summit and Jamie Guy and wife Cathy of Ponte Vedra, FL; one grandchild, Sydny Guy; one brother, Bill Guy and wife Carol of Delaware; one sister, June Hetrick of Houston, TX.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Sheridan and Louise Bright.

 

Bud served our country in the U.S. Air Force as a Military Police officer for four years and retired from Nuzum Trucking.

 

He was a member of Wilsonburg Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He liked to sing at church and other events and loved watching sports especially the WVU Mountaineers. His granddaughter Sydny was the joy of his life.
