James Bernie “Bus” Bright, 90, of Clarksburg passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born in Clarksburg on January 19, 1929, a son of the late Reverend Basil Bernie Bright and Adaline Ina Booth Bright.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. Marshall Bright, whom he married on February 12, 1954.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Debbie Bright of Clarksburg; two grandchildren, Heather Merritt and her husband Bray of Los Angeles, CA and James Dean of Clarksburg; six great grandchildren, Gavin Dean, Miles Merritt, Mia Dean, Zoe Dean, Ryder Merritt and Nolan Dean; and two brothers, Rodney Bright and his wife Melissa of Clarksburg, and Robert Bright and his wife Susie of Clarksburg.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Dale Bright; one sister, Betty Lou Miner; and his step- mother, Bessie Bright.
Mr. Bright was a United States Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War. “Bus” was the owner of Bus Bright’s Garage, Body Shop and Used Cars, having retired after 40 years. He was a member of the Roy E. Parrish Post No. 13 American Legion and the Freewill Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 12:00 noon in the Sunset Memorial Park with Reverend Robert Bright officiating.
