Joseph “Joe” Francis Olivito, 69, of Clarksburg, WV entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on April 4, 2020 at his home surrounded by family after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Joe was born in Clarksburg, WV on April 3, 1951, a son of the late Joseph Olivito, and Mary Barnes Olivito, who survives in Clarksburg, and the oldest of ten children.

Mr. Olivito was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Malfregeot Olivito on April 13, 2014.

Joe is survived by his two sons, Josh Olivito and wife Kristy, and Matthew Olivito and his significant other Danielle Costello; one daughter Jenna Williams and husband Jack; nine grandchildren, Elijah, Liam, Bella, Julianna, Sophia, Zion, Lazaro, Reagan, and Aiden; his nine siblings, Bill, James, John,  and Tony Olivito, Rosalind Runner and husband Bobby, Catherine Sandy and husband Phillip, Mary Frazier and husband Kenny , Josephine Crabtree, and Angela Locke and husband Tom; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and father, Joe was preceded in death by his in-laws Jules and Melina Malfregeot.

After graduating Washington Irving High School in 1969, Joe attended college at Salem University where he played college football and his team was inducted into the Salem University Athletic Hall of Fame. He later went on to be a respected educator for Harrison County schools and had a big heart for the special needs students that he worked with and for the Veterans he helped through the Wounded Warrior Project. Joe married and spent 40 adventurous years with his wife, Linda, making memories with her and their three children until she passed away in April 2014. Joe coached high school girls basketball, as well as the various sports that his children were involved in. Joe was a hard worker and loved doing around the house projects, from building decks, finishing basements, to his tile craftsmanship. He was always there to lend a hand and help others. His greatest joy was to spend time at the family camp at Audra with his children, grandchildren and many friends.  His compassion for others, work ethic, character, and love of the simple things in life will live in all those who know him. Joe was blessed to spend his remaining years with someone very special to him, Barbara Amodio. Joe and Barbara shared many laughs and made special memories over the last couple of years.

A special thank you to the people of WVU Hospice for the loving care and support during his final days.

In Joe’s honor, memorial contributions may be made out to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256, and WVU Hospice, 327 Medical Park Dr, Bridgeport, WV 26330.
