I got to know Karl when I was working on race cars at Brennan's Speedway. He was always one of the nicest, friendliest guys in the pit area. Once he knew you he knew you forever. I last saw him at a racing reunion at the Rocket factory and he was still the same nice guy he always was. It is my pleasure to call him a friend. The world lost a great man. My condolences.

Karl was a good man. I had watched him race when I was a kid down at Saltwell. He had a sharp 56 Chevy. I really got to know him when he visited Buick garage when I sold cars there after college. He used to help Don Long, the parts manager. Karl always had a smile on his face and did not know a stranger. May God be with him and his family.
