Nancy Susan Somers, 54, of West Milford, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at her residence following a brief illness. She was born in Clarksburg on March 1, 1962, a daughter of the late Gene William and Alice Marie Peet Somers.
Surviving are two brothers, Pete Somers of Bridgeport, and Todd Somers and his wife Jackie of West Milford; one sister, Marie Hill and her husband Frank of New Smyrna Beach, FL; two nieces Felisha Witcher and her husband David, and Heather Somers and her husband Brad Wood; one nephew, Gene William “Bill” Somers, III; and three great nephews, Robert Tucker Somers, Carter Lyndon Somers and Malachi Edgar Somers.
Nancy was employed as a Riveter with Lockheed, having worked on the C130 planes, and was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 1027 Clarksburg. She was formerly employed in road demolition, commercial deep sea fishing, as a coal miner, welder and was the first female rough neck oil field worker in WV. She was also the state winner in pie baking. She was a member of the West Milford Wheel and a member of the Cross Centered Church in Lost Creek.
