Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Wednesday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Bryant Bailey presiding.   Interment will be in the WV National Cemetery where full military graveside honors will be accorded.

Rodger Milburn Woolford, III, 65, of Clarksburg, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg following a sudden illness.

 

He was born in Baltimore, MD, on June 14, 1951, a son of the late Rodger M. Woolford, Jr. and Joan Louise Aronhalt Woolford.

 

Rodger married Cynthia Marie Billings Woolford on October 2, 1982, who resides at their home in Clarksburg.

 

Mr. Woolford is survived by three daughters, Rachel Marie Woolford, Amanda Elizabeth Woolford and fiancé Travis, and Carrie Louise Woolford and companion Lance, all of Clarksburg; two grandsons, Christopher Stanley and Waylon Fincham; two granddaughters, Alexus Stanley and Madilin Fincham. He is also survived by four brothers, Rick Woolford and wife Verna of Pasadena, MD, Marty Woolford and wife Cheryl of Rivera Beach, MD, Bobby Woolford and wife Myra of Federalsburg, MD, and Randy Woolford of Pasadena, MD; sister-in-law, Carrie Peck and husband Randy; brothers-in-law, David Billings and Allan Miller and wife Susie; several nieces and nephews; and his lifelong best friends since kindergarten, Rick Easter and Tom Lancaster.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rhonda Woolford, and his friend, Larry Hands.

 

Rodger was a veteran in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Pipefitter’s and Steamfitter’s Union Local 486, and a life member of VFW Meuse Argonne Post # 573.

 

Rodger loved music, the “Beatles” and at one time played in a band with friends he grew up with, and was a huge Baltimore Orioles fan. He especially loved his children, grandchildren and his best friend his dog, “Benny”.
