Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 1:30pm with Reverend Gary Rapking and Reverend Destry Daniels officiating.   Interment will be in the K of P Memorial Park, Salem. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in memory of Bill to the WV Lions Sight Conservation Foundation, c/o David Nicholson, 104 Pine Tree Lane, Lost Creek, WV  26385.

William T. Douglass, Sr., 81, formerly of Davisson Run Road, Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 following an extended illness.

 

He was born in Jarvisville, a son of the late Stacey Vance and Pearl Bennett Douglass.

 

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Rapking Douglass, whom he married on August 30, 1985.

 

Also surviving are one son, William T. “Doug” Douglass of Spencer; one step-son, Daniel E. Davis and his wife Stacey of Jane Lew; one step-daughter, Cheryl Nicholson and her husband David of Good Hope; four grandchildren, Kyan Douglass, Cory Nicholson and his wife Ashley, Quintin Nicholson, and Riley Combs and her husband Brad; one great grandson, Leon Cole Nicholson; one niece, Patty Douglass; one nephew, James “Butch”  Douglass and his wife Celeste; one great nephew, James Douglass; and one great niece, Nikole Douglass.

 

He was also preceded in death by one brother, James Douglass.

 

Mr. Douglass was a 1955 graduate of Salem High School, a United States Army Veteran, and was a retired head grocery clerk with Kroger after 42 years of service. Mr. Douglass was a former member of the West Milford Lions Club, former Board or Directors for the Sportsman Lake in Salem and was an avid WVU fan, especially basketball.  He enjoyed camping, having traveled to all but three states, and loved camping with family and friends at Brandywine and the WV State Fair each year.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Mr. Douglass was Methodist by faith.
