Cheryl Deborah Sterner, 68, of Stonewood passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Tacoma, WA on April 28, 1955, a daughter of the late Irving “Pappy” and Janet “Nanny” Diebert Sterner.

Surviving are one daughter, Karess Jackson and her husband Aaron of Stonewood; two sons, Troy Heckman and his wife Katie of Harrisburg, PA and Jonathan Brager and his wife Hailey of Clarksburg; seven grandchildren, Gaven Jackson, Courtney Sykes and her husband Dylan, Cody Heckman and his wife Jenna, Chase Heckman and fiancé Sarah Huggins, Finnley Brager, Caden Haught, and Cierra Haught; two great grandchildren, Adalyn Sykes and Ella Jo Heckman; one niece, Janet Boyles and her husband Cody of Texas; her great niece and great nephew Belle and Callum Boyles; her aunt, Carol Dianna; and her cousin, Tyn Sterner; as well as many other family members she cared for.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Chad Haught; and one sister, Tae Sterner.

Cheryl was a graduate of Salem College and was a Registered Nurse at Mon General Hospital.  She was Vice President of Interim Health Care prior to working at Mon General and taught nursing at Glenville State College.

Cheryl enjoyed traveling, especially to beaches and the tropics such as Aruba and Bahamas and loved cruises.   She loved her dogs, Biscuit and Maddie and her cat, Kitty Kitty.   Cheryl was very spiritual and loved spending time with her family.

In keeping with her wishes, Ms. Sterner will be cremated.  A celebration of life will be hosted by the family at a later date.
