Charles R. Gillispie, II, 66, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Clarksburg following a lengthy illness.

Chuck was born in Clarksburg on November 12, 1957, the son of the late Charles R. Gillispie and Charlotte A. Cowgill Gillispie.

Surviving are his sister, Brenda K. Medina of Clarksburg; nephews and their families: Max (Kristen) Corley and sons Declan and Will; Faustino Medina, III and daughter Brooklyn and son Faustino Medina IV (Roman).

He is also survived by one uncle, Robert L. Cowgill and his wife Faye of Elkins, and numerous cousins, as well as, his close friends, Mike Hinzman (Frog) and Sergio Bonimico.

Chuck attended Washington Irving High School and served in the United States Navy in Japan, Australia, and the Philippines. He loved fishing, watching all sports and was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The family would like to express their love and appreciation to doctors and staff of the VA Medical Center in Clarksburg and Amedisys Hospice of Anmoore WV.
