Pat was a wonderful man. I loved his sense of humor and listening to him tell stories. He was a wonderful friend to my dad, Charlie Thayer. They spent hours and hours talking and figuring out how to save America or at least Clarksburg. He will be dearly missed, but he will be remembered by so many for his kindness, his warmth, and his character. Lori Thayer Martino.

If his son Pat is anything like his father, West Virginia has lost one of its great and generous citizens. I pray for peace in the hearts of all who loved Mr. Bower, for his was a life well lived. It's always hard to lose a family patriarch, a father, a brother, a grandfather, a husband, a friend. The man wore many hats well. May you find God's peace in a life well led. - John Gasper
