Visitation will be private. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home to assist with the funeral expenses.

John Allen Deditch, 62, of Clarksburg passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 6:36pm in the United Hospital Center.

He was born in Logan, WV on August 9, 1961, a son of the late John Allen and Lillian Carol Ratliff Deditch.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sherri Hughes Deditch, whom he married on December 31, 2005.

Also surviving are six children, Susan and her husband Bob, William and his wife Melissa, Emily, John, Misty and Sara; two special grandchildren, Lydia and Kenzie Stevens as well as four additional grandchildren; two siblings, Vince Deditch and his wife Julia and Lisa Deavers and her husband Melvin; and his special dog Little Bit and well as his other dogs, Candy, Luke and Coco.

He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruby and Alex Ratliff as well as cousins, Greg McNeely and Richard McNeely.

Mr. Deditch was an electrician with IBEW Local 26 in Washington D.C. He loved motorcycles and going on rides and enjoyed the outdoors, especially visiting parks and traveling to Lancaster annually with his wife.  Mostly, John loved spending time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be private.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Sunset Memorial Park.
