Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 11:00 am until the time of service, which will be at to 1:00 pm with Reverend Rick Owen officiating.  In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Shingleton will be cremated following the service.

Leroy Gregg Shingleton, 61, of Fleming Street, Clarksburg, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 in the Morgantown Health & Rehab Center in Morgantown.  He was born in Hepzibah, Taylor County on June 21, 1956, a son of the late Dorsey and Frances Chute Shingleton.

 

 

He is survived by his wife, Janice Louise Shreve Shingleton, whom he married on August 7, 1993.  Also surviving are two sons, David Reel of Oklahoma, and Joseph Reel of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Abigail Reel, Mason Reel and Gabrielle Reel; six brothers and sisters, Ann Smith and her husband Gary of Bridgeport, Billy Shingleton and his wife Annegale if Bridgeport, Darlene DeWitt and her husband Scott of Taylor County, Nancy Belcastro and her husband John of Taylor County, Lawrence Shingleton of Clarksburg, and Tommy Shingleton of Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews.

 

 

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Virginia Shingleton; and two brothers, Jimmy and Bobby Shingleton.

 

 

Mr. Shingleton was a 1976 graduate of Flemington High School, was the groundskeeper at the Bridgeport County Club, and was formerly employed at the Bridgeport Cemetery.  He was a member of the Summit Park VFD where he was a member for many years, and a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Shingleton will be cremated following the service.
