Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where Catholic Burial Rites will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Father Casey Mahone presiding.  Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Michael Lindsay Petitto, 55, of West Milford passed away unexpectedly Dec. 31st, 2017 at the Hide-A-Way.

 

He was born in Clarksburg on Oct. 18th 1962, son of the late Antonio (Tony) and Dora (Plivelich) Petitto.

 

Michael is survived by his wife of 29 years, Karen (Romain) Petitto and children, Aaron, Sarah, Annie, and Maggie. Also surviving are brothers, Charles (Rennah) and Chris (Jeannine) Petitto, several nieces and nephews and special aunt, Susan Randall.

 

Michael graduated from South Harrison High School in 1980 and was a 1985 graduate of Fairmont State University with a degree in Business Administration, and later a degree in Safety Engineering. Michael was owner and operator of Hide-A-Way Golf Course and loved his golfers.

 

Previous to re-opening the Hide-A-Way, he worked alongside his father in the family coal business. He was unconditionally devoted to his children and very proud of their accomplishments. Michael was an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper. He enjoyed spending time at his fishing camp with close friends and his black lab, Collie. Michael was a staunch supporter of the military who loved history, and was a voracious reader. He was faithful to the early morning coffee table at B & S One Stop. Michael was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Sigma Pi Fraternity, and the WV Golf Course Superintendent’s Association.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Michael’s memory to Bi-County Nutrition, 416 Ohio Ave. Nutter Fort, WV.
