Shirley Lavaughn Goldsmith Miller, 87, of Mt. Clare, WV passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023 at her residence.

She was born in Clarksburg on June 12, 1936 a daughter of the late Kyle and Marion Green Goldsmith.

Shirley married Jarol A. Miller, who preceded her in death on June 13, 2022.

Surviving are one son, Michael Helms and wife Denise of Ohio; one daughter, Kylene Bacchus and husband Todd of Mt. Clare; five grandchildren, Patrick Helms, Brandon Helms, Jeffrey Johnson, Sarah Johnson, Zach Carpenter, Tessa Roosa and Neil Dye; and two sisters, Barbara Marchio of Michigan and Kylene Claypool of Texas.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley is preceded in death by one brother, Rubin Vanscoy; and one sister, Linda Johnson.

Shirley attended Roosevelt Wilson High School. She worked in the Mold Shop at Anchoring Hocking until the companies closing and later work in housekeeping at the United Hospital Center.

In keeping with her wishes, Shirley will be cremated. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the WV National Cemetery.
