Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 11:00 am with Pastor John Hayes presiding. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens where full military honors will be accorded. The family of Mr. Cain request donations be made to Amos Carvelli Funeral Home to assist with the funeral expense.

Winfield Conway “JR” Cain Jr., 85, of Salem, WV, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, at the Salem Genesis Center, with loved ones by his side.

Winfield was born in Clarksburg, WV, on February 15, 1937, a son of the late Winfield C. Cain Sr. and Delphia Ankrom Skalski.

He is survived by his three daughters, Angel Floyd and her husband Brandon of Salem, Debra Morrison and her companion Rick Brown of Ellenmoore, and Melissa Golden of Clarksburg; twelve grandchildren, one of which he raised, Tabitha Shipman and her husband Jeff of Buckhannon; eleven great-grandchildren; half-sisters, Linda Bowen of Clarksburg and Rosemary Second of Sun Valley; previous wife Diana Cain of Clarksburg; and his beloved cat Bella.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Patricia Cain; brother David Cain; half-sister Judy Cain Nicholson; and best-friend Dinah Hamilton.

JR worked in maintenance at the Clarksburg Senior Citizen Center. He was previously employed by Garden Fresh. His favorite activity to do in his free time was to take drives, particularly on the back country roads. He enjoyed watching Westerns and was an animal lover, he especially loved eagles.
