Lucille “Lu’cyl” Marie Clark, 67, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at her residence.

Lucille was born on June 25, 1958, in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late James and Mary Mackey Shields.

She was also preceded in death by her husband James Clark in 2014.

She is survived by her two children, Chauncey Shields and his wife Michelle of Clarksburg and Brittany Shields-Bailey and her husband Jonathan of Clarksburg; four grandchildren, Austin, Jasmine and Jayvin Shields and Naomi Shields-Bailey; eight siblings, James Shields Jr. and his wife Donna, Michael Shields, Mike Cox and his wife Mary, Jeanette Cox Walker, Debbie Cox, David Cox and his wife Jodi, Vonnie Cox, and Dale Cox; several nieces and nephews; as well as two spiritual sisters, Susie Hilliard and Dee Dee Jackson.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Shields and infant brother, William “Billy” Shields.

Lucille was a graduate of Fairmont State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business. She was ordained as a licensed minister through Life More Abundantly Church. She worked for the K-Mart layaway department for many years and later worked for Highland-Clarksburg Hospital as a behavioral health technician. She was as devoted to the Lord as she was her family and gained her Christian roots from the West Side Church in Charleston. She was a former member of Horizon’s Church.

She will be remembered for her faith and love of God as well as her dedication to her children and grandchildren. She was a doting “Nana” and proud of her family. She did not know a stranger and had an infectious smile.
