Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Michael Kelley presiding. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park.

Donna Jean (Kelly) Mendez, 72, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at her residence.
She was born in Clarksburg, WV, on April 9, 1954, a daughter of the late John and Janet Ann (Lucas) Kelly.
She was married on June 25, 1977, to her husband of 49 years, Robert Argimiro Mendez, who resides at their home in Clarksburg.
Also surviving are two daughters, Stacy Boyles and her husband Cliff of Martinsburg, WV, and Julie Schley and her husband John of Clarksburg. She was grandmother to five grandchildren, Robbie Mendez, Katilynn Boyles, Sarah Boyles, Kenya Schley, and Kyle Schley. She also leaves behind two brothers, Michael Kelley and his wife Nora of Vista, CA, and Randy Kelley and his wife Janet of Logan, WV; as well as several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Diane Schlegel and her husband Don of Leesburg, FL, and Marie Mendez of Vine Grove, KY, and brother-in-law, Richard Mendez and wife Janet of Mount Clare.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Mark Kelley.
Donna was a graduate of Washington Irving High School and was the Senior Auditor for Farm Credit of the Virginia’s, retiring after 41 ½ years of service.
She was Protestant by faith. Donna loved traveling. She always looked forward to cruising or going to the beach with her family. Above all, she was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who had great pleasure spoiling her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, playing her solitaire “tripeaks” on her phone, watching her shows and shopping. She always had a smile on her face for those around her and was up for any adventure. She will be sadly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
