Please accept my love and prayers at the tremendous loss of Melinda...I fist met Melinda Duke when we were new graduate nurses...we became fast friends. She often talked to me about her dad. She missed him so much......She loved her family with her whole heart. Soon she married Chuck, her prince charming. And along came the boys...No wife, or mother was ever more proud. Many years later I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the paramedic picking up my patient...There was no doubt who he was when I looked in his eyes...I knew my patient was in good hands.

God sometimes chooses to take our loved ones early in life, but we can rest assured; he knows best and does what is best. I know she will be sadly missed by those left behind. God bless!

Melinda exuded warmth and love, engaging everyone she met with her welcoming smile and contagious laughter. Harrison County lost a pillar of family and community; Heaven gained a true angel. Chuck, Donnie, Tim, Chris & families, remember this: The depth of your loss goes beyond tears, yet, oh, how God blessed you when He gave her to you. To have such a wife, such a mother. You continue in our thoughts and prayers. Genny & Gary

I will surely miss Melinda and talking with her at the family functions at Chris and Kari’s house. She was such a beautiful lady, inside and out. May you rest easy now Melinda in God’s beautiful home.

Melinda was one of my first friends when I moved to Bridgeport at the tender age of 12. I was very shy and didn't know anybody when I began my 8th grade at All Saints grade school. She took me under her wing and made the transition so much easier. I will always remember Melinda and her family for making me feel so welcome in the community. You are all in my prayers at this difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss! I remember Melinda and Donna from All Saints Catholic Church. If the doors were open the Duke sisters were there! You played just about every Saturday night and sang your hearts out. You created a wonderful childhood memory for me and as we get older they become more and more special. You certainly grew up to be a beautiful woman. Thank you for the memories! I have no doubt she is resting comfortably with her beloved Mom and Dad.
