Glen Roger Alkire born September 2, 1942, of 109 Mable Lane, Twilight WV, went to be with his loved ones that passed before him on January 13, 2024, at 1am. He passed with his son Glen Roger Alkire II, daughter Alicia Quincel, daughter in Law Maria Alkire and granddaughter Danielle McCarty by his side. He was the son of Winfred C. Alkire and Areta Aegan Alkire, both of Buckhannon WV. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother William Alkire, brother Robert Alkire, first wife Molly Ward Alkire and grandson Thomas Alkire. Followed in death by his second wife Rebecca Mooney Alkire. Survivors include his son Glen R. Alkire II, daughter Alicia Quincel, daughter in law Maria Alkire, granddaughter Danielle McCarty and her daughters Savannah and Molly, of French Creek WV, granddaughter Darla Oldaker, her husband Quinten and son Grayson, of Hinkleville WV, grandson Christian Alkire, his wife Bethany and children Gryffin and Lilly, of Clarksburg WV, grandson John Alkire, granddaughter Sabrina Johnston and Gabriel Lozano of Phoenix AZ, granddaughter Brittney Alkire of Orlando FL, Stepson Jamey Toler and stepdaughter Tracy Toler of Twilight WV. Bud was a medic in the Vietnam war (66-67) and served in the Air Force and Navy for 17 years. He was the VFW 5578 Post Commander in Twilight WV where he commanded the Color Guard as well. Jack of all trades but a master of none. He was a Husband, father, son, grandfather, great grandfather, stepfather, and friend to many. Friends and family will be received at Christian Fellowship Church 56 Fellowship Way, Buckhannon, West Virginia 26201 at 2pm on Saturday February 17, 2024. He will be buried with his wife Molly in Grafton National Cemetery at a later date.
