In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Nolan will be cremated. A graveside service will be held at Stonewall Park Cemetery on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 am with Pastor Karen Tate officiating. Helen M. Nolan, 89, departed this earthly life on November 6, 2023, at Crestview Manor in Jane Lew, WV. She was born on September 6, 1934, at Jackson’s Mill, WV to Virginia M. Bennett Shultz and spent her childhood years in Mount Clare, WV. Helen was preceeded in death by her husband of 53 years, William F. “Bill” Nolan (2006) and her second husband, Earle Parmenter (2014). Also preceding her in death were her mother and stepfather, Virginia and George Shultz. Mrs. Nolan is survived by one daughter, Debra Nolan Johnson (Curtis) of Houston, TX, and one son, William F. Nolan II (Loretta) of Nutter Fort, WV. She is also survived by one grandson, Edward Wetzel of Houston, TX, three granddaughters, Ashley Nolan Stokley of Summerdale, AL, Joanna Barnett of Jane Lew, WV, and Melinda Hairfield of Jane Lew, WV. She is survived by six great-grandchildren, Madison, Grayson, Eli, C.J., David, and Ella. Helen was a 1953 graduate of Washington Irving High School and attended Valencia College in Kissimmee, FL. Helen worked in various positions at Lowndes Bank of Clarksburg beginning in 1957 for a total of 31 years, retiring in 1988. At that time Helen and husband, Bill, retired to Kissimmee, FL., where they remained for 16 years. During that time, Helen once again pursued her love of banking and began working at Colonial Bank of Kissimmee, where she remained for 11 years. Still not ready to completely retire, Helen then worked for the Kissimmee law firm of Wakefield & Associates, as well as Lowes, where she worked both in Kissimmee, FL and here in Clarksburg, WV. In her final career endeavor, Helen also took great pride in her volunteer work at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, where she served in various positions for 4 years. She was a member of Vincent Memorial United Methodist Church for 53 years. In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Nolan will be cremated.
