Herbert Kenneth “Herbie” Longwell, 73, of Clarksburg, WV passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, in Louisville, KY while attending the largest farm expo on the east coast.

He was born in Clarksburg, WV on June 8, 1950, the son of the late Herbert Kenneth Longwell, Sr. and Alberta Senora Custer Longwell.

He is survived by his wife Doris A. Boserman Longwell whom he married on May 27, 1977, and resides at their home in Clarksburg. Also surviving are one son, Robert A Haney of Paintsville, KY, one daughter, Melissa A. Goots and husband Mike of Quiet Dell, WV, five grandchildren; Jette, Madison, Alexis, Kristin and Kassandra and three nephews; Steven Longwell, Charles “Chuck” Longwell and James Longwell.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.

He retired with 50 years’ service as a truck driver with A & R Transport with millions and millions of accident-free miles.

He enjoyed farming and was the owner of Custer Hollow Farms. He was an avid motorcyclist and was the youngest trained Triumph technician in the United States. He was affiliated with Harley Owners Group (HOG), a charter member of the State of West Virginia Harley Owners Group and founder of the West Virginia Harley Owners Group rallies.

There will be no public visitation and private services will be held with the Reverend Jim Harris of the First Presbyterian Church officiating.
