Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Wednesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Assembly Church in Nutter Fort with Pastor Fred Aves presiding. Interment will follow in the Saltwell Baptist Church Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded.

Jesse Davis Garrett, 80, of Lost Creek, WV, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, due to an extended illness, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV.

Jesse was born on October 26, 1944, in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Jesse Theodore and Mary Evelyn Jones Garrett.

Jesse was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Elizabeth Wade of Shinnston, WV; and one brother, Russell Stephen Garrett of Fairmont, WV.

He is survived by two children, Charles R. Garrett and wife Arreda of Newton Falls, OH, and Patricia Noel Henline and husband Denver of Ridgway, PA; and one sister, Sharon Martin and husband Jim of Clarksburg, WV. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Jesse was a graduate of Shinnston High School, Class of 1963, and served in the Army Reserves. He retired Westinghouse and held various positions including Shinnston Gas Company.

Jesse loved going to the flea market, and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening and above all loved his church, Christian Assembly of Nutter Fort and his good friend Gerald Workman.
