Family and friends may call at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 126 E Pike Street, Clarksburg, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the conclusion of the visitation at 10:00 a.m. with Father Casey Mahone as Celebrant. Inurnment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Jo Anne L. Scott, 93, of Clarksburg, WV passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Maplewood Healthcare Center in Bridgeport.

She was born in Clarksburg on August 2,1931the daughter of the late John Scott and Ellen “Nellie” Joyce Scott.

She is survived by three brothers; Thomas Scott and wife Thelma of Currituck, NC, Francis Scott and wife Alexis of Bridgeport, WV and Ignatius Scott of Clarksburg, two sisters; Jean Scott of Texas, and Philomena Martin of Clarksburg, two sisters-in-law; Mary B. Scott of DeLand, FL, and JoAnn F. Scott of Elizabeth City, NC, and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Ellen Kennedy and Mary Clare Boyle, three brothers; Michael Anthony Scott, John Joseph Scott and James Patrick Scott, an infant sister, Mary Rose Scott and sister-in-law, Janet Scott, who was like a sister to her.

Jo Anne was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, and St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She worked for Dr. George Rose as an RN for 17 years, and she also worked for United Hospital Center and Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg and Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Weston, and Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital in PA.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Nurses Association, and formerly a member of Habitat for Humanity and the Red Hat Society.

Honoring Jo Anne’s wishes, she will be cremated.
