Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on 3:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm to conclude the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Casey Mahone as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded.

Joseph DeVono, Jr., 91, of Clarksburg passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 in the United Hospital Center surrounded by his family.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 11, 1933, a son of the late Joseph DeVono, Sr. and Angeline Guido DeVono.
He was married to Doris M. Rowan DeVono, who preceded him in death on March 31, 2024.
Surviving are three children, Roni Rae Bunnell and her husband Sonny of Clarksburg, Wm. Kevin DeVono and his wife Kirsten of Bridgeport and Dr. Joseph DeVono and his wife Dr. Mary Faw-DeVono of Charleston; one granddaughter, Heather Marie Burnside and her husband Michael of Clarksburg; one grandson, Joseph Michael (Joey) DeVono of Bridgeport; one great grandson, Christian Michael Burnside of Clarksburg; and one sister, Anna Marie Corvello of West Palm Beach, FL.
He was also preceded in death by his twin sister, Joan Ware.
Mr. DeVono was a graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School and attended Salem College. He was a United States Navy Veteran having served for 4 years. He was stationed in Guam for 18 months, Hunter Point in San Francisco, CA and served 12 months on the USS Destroyer. He was then employed by Lockheed Martin Aircraft, retiring with 34 years of service.
Mr. DeVono was Catholic by faith and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an avid sports fan. The Highlight of his life was his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandson.
The world has been a better place because of his presence.
