Roger L. Longwell, 80, of Clarksburg, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Lost Creek, WV on March 31, 1944, a son of the late Wayman and Beaulah “Susan” Hall Longwell.
Roger is survived by his wife of 20 years, Patricia A. “Patty” Helmick Longwell, who resides at their home in Clarksburg.
In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by three children, Melissa Longwell Powell, Susan Longwell and companion Thomas Exline, and Roger Longwell II and wife Julie; two stepdaughters, Melisha Thacker and husband James and Marianne Helm and husband Marcus; one stepdaughter-in-law, Trina Hood; brothers-in-law, Jerry Palmer and Pat Romano; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Palmer and Linda Romano; and one stepson, Wesley Hood.
Roger was a 1963 graduate of Bridgeport High School. He worked as a Molder-Man and in Maintenance for the Clarksburg Casket Company where he retired from. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and scenic drives, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and his dogs.
He will be dearly missed by those who truly knew and loved him.
