A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8092 3rd St, Clarksburg, WV 26301, from 9:00 am – 10:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am with Father Kumar Reddimasu presiding. Inurnment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Diana Colombo Fresa, 87, of Atlanta, Georgia, and formerly of Clarksburg, WV, died on August 19, 2020. She was born June 9, 1933 the eldest daughter of Mary (Romano) Colombo and Samuel Salvatore Tiano Colombo.  While a young child, her mother died, and her father remarried to Lenora Romano. She was raised in a large, extended family among many cousins, Aunts and Uncles whom she dearly loved.

Diana was a graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School. She attended Virginia Intermont College where she studied music.  Diana was married to the late Edward Karl Fresa of Clarksburg. She gave up her career as a concert pianist to raise a family of 6 boys. She later earned a degree in Education from West Virginia University and worked as a teacher in California.  Diana was very proud of her Italian heritage and culture and she instilled the love of music, art, architecture, and history to her children.

She is survived by her sons, Mark, of Lilburn, GA., Kevin of Merritt Island, FL., Karl who resides in LaGrange Park, IL.  and Samuel who resides in Tucker, GA., and her grandchildren Gabriel, Kitt and Kendall Fresa, her brother Gino and spouse Virginia Colombo of Clarksburg, sister Christine Babyak and husband John of Kennesaw, Georgia.

She is preceded in death by her sons, Michael and Dana Fresa and brother Dr. Dino Colombo and spouse Mary Ellen.

Diana, who made her home with her son Sam, was afflicted for many years with Dementia and Alzheimer’s. She was also cared for over the years by her sons Michael and Dana.  Diana will be remembered for her beauty, talent, and her undying love for her boys.
