Obituaries

Robert Franklin Stewart, 89, of Beaver, WV, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at River Oaks in Clarksburg.

He was born in Mt. Clare, WV, on January 20, 1937, a son of the late Arden Kenneth and Jaunita Hoylman Stewart.

Mr. Stewart is survived by seven children, Robert E. Stewart of Elkins, WV, Jeffrey A. Stewart (Tonya) of Clarksburg, David A. Stewart of Florida, Terry L. Stewart (Linda) of California, Mary J. Vickers (David Williams) of Florida, Joseph P. Stewart of Pennsylvania, and Nathan E. Stewart of Clarksburg; six grandchildren, Jeffrey W. Stewart, Jessica Stewart, Tyler Stewart, Dustin A. Vickers, Tiffany Stewart, and Nicholas Stewart; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Philip Stewart; three sisters, Ina, Louise, and Shirley; and two daughters-in-law, Claudia Stewart and Teresa Stewart.

A proud member of the Roosevelt Wilson High School Class of 1955, Robert retired after 34 years as a truck driver with Fisher Auto Parts.

He was a former member of Bible Baptist Church and a dedicated member of Crow Baptist Church in Beaver, where his faith remained an important part of his life. Robert faithfully attended church and found joy in visiting nursing homes and encouraging others. He loved the outdoors, especially long walks and helping others by cutting their grass. Above all, he cherished his cats and the companionship they provided.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service, and he will be laid to rest in the Green Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
