Shirley Ann Collins Sheets, 78, of Nutter Fort, WV, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Clarksburg, WV, on May 11, 1948, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Georgia Myers Collins.

Mrs. Sheets is survived by one daughter, Kathy Powell of Nutter Fort; one son, John Sheets of Charleston; two grandchildren, Nathan Powell and Skyler Weekley. She also leaves behind a brother, Jerry Collins and his wife Margaret of Maryland; and a niece, Shawna Collins Chesser.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Savannah Sheets; and brother, Kenny Collins.

She was a graduate of Roosevelt-Wilson High School, Class of 1966, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Fairmont State College and a master’s degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College. She previously served as an administrator with the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Shirley was the co-founder and operator, alongside her daughter, of Professional Financial Solutions. She also owned and managed several rental properties and served on the Board of the Nutter Fort Public Library.

Shirley never stopped moving and enjoyed fishing, watching movies, and working in her yard. She especially cherished Sunday “Funday,” when she could spend time with her family. Above all, Shirley loved spending time with “her Nathan.”

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Sanders presiding. Interment will follow in the Stonewall Park Cemetery.
