Family and friends may call at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Duff Street United Methodist Church, 400 Duff Avenue, Clarksburg, on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Tim Kelley officiating. Mr. Orr will lie in state prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton.

John Charles Orr, 86, of Clarksburg went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 13, 2025, at his home surrounded by family, whom he dearly loved.
He was born, in Mathias, West Virginia on October 5, 1938, the youngest and only son of the late Merle Grayson Orr and Ruth Alma Osborne Orr.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Devers Orr, whom he married on July 31, 1960.
He is survived by one sister, Millicent Bowers of Marietta, Georgia and was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Swecker and Polly Taylor.
Also surviving are two daughters, Diana Crim and her husband Michael of Mount Clare, West Virginia, and Brenda Conklin and her husband Frederick of Smyrna, Georgia; five grandchildren, Heather Florence and husband Cory, Eric Hall, Sarah Crim, Jack Conklin and Grayson Conklin; one great granddaughter, Madelyn Florence; and several nieces and nephews.
John was a 1956 graduate of Grafton High School. He served as an aviation electrician in the US Navy which included two years abroad in Hawaii and Japan. John retired from the C&P Telephone Company after serving as fleet operations supervisor with over thirty years of service. He was a member and faithful servant of Duff Street United Methodist Church for over fifty years. John was a devoted and loving husband and father. When not with family, John adored and pampered his dog, Milo, who remained by his side faithfully.
John enjoyed hunting and fishing for many years and was a devoted WVU Mountaineer fan across all sports.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in John’s memory to the Duff Street United Methodist Church which will be designated to the Shirley Orr Memorial Food Pantry Fund.
