Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, and Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm where an ELKS service will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor Mary Weaver officiating, along with Alberts dear friend, Wayne Glasure, and musical selections by Ruth Lamm. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens where full military services will be accorded.

Albert Frank Kehrer, age 94, of Clarksburg, departed this life Friday August 18, 2017 at the River Oaks Nursing Facility. He was born July 31, 1923 in Sistersville, WV a son of the late William Kehrer and Helen Good Kehrer.

His loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy J. Garrett Kehrer, whom he married November 12, 1955, survives in Clarksburg.

Also surviving are three sons, Frank E. Kehrer and his wife Betty of Buckhannon, Albert P. Kehrer and his wife Stacey of Bridgeport, and William G. “Bill” Kehrer of Clarksburg; three daughters, Sue Ellen Kehrer Beebe and her husband Albert of Alma, WV, Dianna K. Urse of Fairmont, and Doris Curley and her husband Tom of Wilmington, NC; fifteen grandchildren, Linda Butcher and Robin Wilson, Christina Wilson, Dean Thorniley, Melinda Backlund, Sunshine Thorniley, Joplin Kehrer, Broden Michael Kehrer, Raeanna and Bradey Loffert, Jay Brandon Urse and Jill Sherman, Brittany Urse, Corey Urse and Mackenzie Murdock, Katelyn Cottrill, Daniel J. Wilson, Rebecca and Brian Flint, and Kristen and Terry Bassell; several great and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie Cline and her husband David, and Virginia Flesher, all of Sistersville; sisters-in-law, Carol Kehrer and Paulette Morgan; son-in-law Clifford Thorniley of Ohio; and a special nephew, Jerry Gulley and his wife Dora of Greenville, SC.

Along with his parents, Albert is preceded in death by one grandson, Bonn David Kehrer; three daughters, Helen Thorniley, and twin daughters, Linda and Lana Kehrer; three brothers; and two sisters.

Albert started, in 1948, a service business called City Window Cleaners, which is still operated by his son Frank.

He was a member of the BPO ELKS (Former Clarksburg Lodge #482) and Buckhannon Lodge #1736, where he was an ELK for 68 years, Exalated Ruler for two terms, and served his 5th year term as trustee. He was also a member of Civilian Conservation Corp., VFW 3408 of West Union, American Legion Post #31 of Shinnston, Moose Lodge 944 of Harrisville, Sunshine CEOs of Pullman, WV/ Ritchie County, and a lifetime member of America Hunting Club. He was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran in the Pacific Theater.

Albert was also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Ellenboro where he served as a trustee, and an usher. He sang in the choir, which he really enjoyed. He loved to sing and read his Bible and the Daily Bread Devotions. He and his wife volunteered at the Louis A. Johnson Medical Center and the W.V. Veterans Nursing Facility, sponsored by the B.P.O.E. Grand Lodge.

He loved his family and his church family. Albert had a full life and he enjoyed each day, living for his Loving Savior.

The family would like to thank the staff at the W.V. Veterans Nursing Facility for their care, and a special thank you to the staff of River Oaks Nursing Facility and Amedisys Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make donations out to Elks National Foundation for children and veterans, and Civilian Conservation Corporation.
