Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.   She will be taken to the Lost Creek United Methodist Church on Friday, November 22, 2019 where the service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Van Horn and Pastor Shari Dawn Stilgenbauer presiding.  Miss Rogers will lie in state one hour prior to the service.   Interment will follow in the Lost Creek Seventh Day Baptist Church Cemetery.

Amy Marie Rogers, 55, of Lost Creek, WV, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019, at Ruby Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

 

Amy was born in Clarksburg, on October 6, 1964, a daughter of the late George Denzell Rogers Sr., and Martha Lois Cottrill Rogers Dye of Lost Creek.

 

Also surviving are her brothers, Denny Rogers and wife Deborah of Summerfield, FL and James Rogers and wife Sonja of Lost Creek; her sister, Lana L. Rogers Van Horn and husband Robert of Columbus, OH; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Martha A. Gore and Betty S. Van Meter and her brother Jeffrey Dye.

 

Amy graduated from South Harrison High School in 1982 and went on to graduate with an associate degree from Salem College. She then attended Fairmont State University where she received her bachelor’s degree.  She worked for Social Security and was the office manager for Dr. Douglas McKinney with 17 years of service. She also taught Medical Terminology at the United Career Center.

 

She was a lifelong member of the Lost Creek United Methodist Church where she formerly served as secretary for many years.  Amy was a member of the CEOS, the Harrison County Senior Citizens and Medical Office Managers Association where she served as past president.  She also was a former member of the Lost Creek City Council.
