Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, WV, on May 8, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Brian Plum presiding.   Interment will follow in the Broad Run Cemetery where full military graveside rites will be accorded.

Andrew Patterson “Andy Pat” Cooper, age 77, of Lost Creek WV, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019, in Clarksburg, WV.

 

He was born in Webster, NC, on December 19, 1941, a son of the late Earl and Fern Patterson Cooper.

 

Andy Pat was preceded in death on April 21, 2016, by his wife, Martha Karen Lowther Cooper, whom he married on October 7, 1961.

 

Also surviving are his son, Rodney Kirk Cooper, Sr. and wife Melody, and his daughter, Alicia Thompson and husband Jake both of Lost Creek.  He was grandfather to four grandchildren, Rodney Kirk Cooper, Jr. and his wife Brittney, Shawn Patrick Cooper, Hannah Danielle Thompson, and Adriaunna Noelle Thompson; and two great grandchildren, Victoria, and Nolan.  He is also survived by his aunt, Peggy Patterson, cousins, Bobbie Sue and Dan Whitehead.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Andrea Christie Cooper, maternal grandparents, John Harvey and Clara McGinnis Patterson; paternal grandparents, Andrew D. and Estella Bonnie Cooper; several aunts and uncles, Bill Patterson, Sybil Massey, Virginia Patterson, Jolene Davenport, and Peggy Patterson, Hunter Cooper, and Bonnie Cooper.

 

Andy Pat graduated from Lost Creek High School in 1959 and was the owner of Cooper’s Antiques and retied after 30 years as an antique dealer.  He also worked for Pittsburgh Plate Glass for 12 years.

 

He was a member of the Lost Creek United Methodist Church.  He was also a member of the Country Roads Good Sam’s Camping Group, the Gold Prospectors of America, Lost Dutchman Mining Association, and National Street Rod Association.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Amedysis Foundation, P.O. Box 366, Anmoore, WV 26323.
