Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.  There will be a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the visitation.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Stonewood at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, with Father Kent Durig as celebrant.   Mrs. Thorpe will be laid to rest by her husband in the Bridgeport Cemetery.

Angeline Marie “Angie” Perri Thorpe, 98, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018, at the United Hospital Center Hospice.

 

She was born in Clarksburg, WV on December 29, 1919, a daughter of the late Salvatore (Sam) and Rosa Laratta Perri.

 

Angie was married on April 19, 1953, to Sterling Johnson Thorpe, who preceded her in death on September 12, 1988.

 

Mrs. Thorpe is survived by three children, Duane Thorpe and wife Teresa of Dayton, OH, Donna Visokay and husband Gary of Palm Harbor, FL, and David Thorpe of Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Ashley Vernon and husband Drew, Sarah Patesel and husband Patrick, Matthew Visokay, Nicole Visokay and Brian Thorpe; and two great grandchildren, Mila Vernon and Emma Vernon. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Gabriel of North View, WV and Virginia Cross of Ravenswood, WV; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Angeline was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Perri, Dominick Perri and Frank Perri; and one sister, Catherine Beech.

 

Angie was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and a homemaker.  She formerly worked for her brother-in-law at the Burl Thorpe Cleaners.  Angie will fondly be remembered for her love of cooking, baking, and sharing with others.  She enjoyed gardening and cheering on the Mountaineers.
