Anthony Creed “Bubba” Holyfield, 28, of Clarksburg, WV passed away unexpectedly on March 31. 2020, in Clarksburg.

He was born in Clarksburg on September 22, 1991, a son of Ernest Wade Holyfield of Clarksburg, and Irene M. Johnson Simpson of Clarksburg.

In addition to his parents, Anthony is survived by his daughter, Aijah Marie Holyfield; three brothers, Xavier Holyfield of Clarksburg, US DOD Civil Servant Carlos Simpson and wife Clare of England, and Asa Anderson of Clarksburg; paternal grandmother, Joanne Holyfield; one uncle, Anthony (Lisa) Holyfield; four aunts, Ernestine (Daryl) Barnett, Dawnna Hill, Donella Hill, and Emogene Johnson; nieces and nephews, Mya, Kai, Chantelle; and many cousins.

Anthony is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ernest Holyfield; maternal grandparents Violet Johnson and Brady Crawford; one uncle, Fred Johnson; and one great uncle, Lt. Col. Thomas H. Mayfield, a Tuskegee Airman.

Anthony graduated from Robert C. Byrd High School in 2010, where he played football. He loved listening to and making music. Anthony loved his family and was a momma’s boy. He will be deeply missed.

Per Anthony’s request, cremation services will be held. A public memorial service will be announced at a later date.
