Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 10:00 am with Rev. Daniel Cope officiating.  Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.   Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Patriots Circle National Headquarters, 406 West 34th Street, Kansas City, MO 64111, or to WVU People’s Hospice, 327 Medical Park Drive, Bridgeport, WV  26330.

Argyl W. Norman, 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 5, 2018 at his residence after an extended illness.  He was born in Mt. Clare, WV and was a lifelong resident of Clarksburg.  He was the son of the late Troy and Dortha Williamson Norman.

 

He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Phyllis Ferguson Norman; four children, Melody Ferrell and husband Bill of Shinntson, WV, Eunice Rambo of Minerva, OH, Rachel Stratton and husband Bill of Ashville, NY, and Charity Norman of Falconer, NY.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Rebekah Rambo Hoch and husband Brandon, Krista Rambo Kruse and husband Paul, Paul Rambo, IV and Devonna Rambo, Darian, Nathan, Leanna and Christopher Stratton; one great grandchild, Brylan Hoch, and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two sisters, June Norman Johnson and Maxine Norman Chesbro.

 

Mr. Norman was a graduate of Victory High School and retired from the Harrison County Courthouse where he worked as a custodian.  He attended the Wolf Summit Wesleyan Methodist Church.  He was proud to be an American, a strong supporter of the U. S. Military and veterans, and enjoyed reading current events.

 

The family would like to express special appreciation to Village Caregivers, particularly Penny, and WVU People’s Hospice for their care, and Reverend Daniel Cope for his visits.
