Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, where a Private funeral service will be held on Friday with Reverend Linda Muhly officiating. Interment will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery.

Barbara Ann Harbert Anderson. 87, of Clarksburg passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020 in the United Hospital Center.

 

She was born in Sardis on November 19, 1932, a daughter of the late Arwin Fay and Volena Pearl Harbert.

 

She is survived by her husband, Marion Richard “Dick” Anderson, whom she married on June 3, 1950.

 

Also surviving are one daughter, Kathy Hicks and her husband Jeff of Greensburg, PA; one grandson, Morgan Hicks and his fiancé Raechel Shotto of Pittsburgh, PA; one sister, Bernice Noe’ of Washington, PA; several nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Anderson of Bridgeport.

 

She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Warren Harbert and Francis Harbert, Zelma Hammond and Ernestine Schweikert.

 

Barbara was a 1950 graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School and was a retired dental assistant.

 

She was the 1988 President of the reorganized Humane Society of Harrison County and remained on the Board for many years. Barbara enjoyed playing Bridge until recently, vacationing with her family and attending family reunions. She was a past member of the Eastern Star and a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1766 Milford Street, Clarksburg, WV 26301 or to the Humane Society of Harrison County, 2450 Saltwell Road, Shinnston, WV 26431.
