Obituaries

Bernice Myrle Devericks, age 93, of Stonewood departed this life Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the River Oaks Nursing Home following an extended illness.  She was born September 25, 1923 in Doddridge County, a daughter of the late Emory Jay Devericks and Lillie Nicholson Devericks.

Ms. Devericks is survived by one son, Willard Michael Devericks of Stonewood.  Her sister, Juanita Cross of East View.  A sister-in-law, Patricia Devericks of Stonewood.  Nephews and niece, Dave Blair of Nutter Fort, Larry Blair of Anmoore, and Deborah Malcom of Stonewood.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Devericks was preceded in death by one son, Robert Devericks.  Four sisters, Waveline Nicholson, Opal Lafferty, Maxine Blair, and Mary Jane Devericks; one brother, Jay Junior Devericks, as well as one nephew, Kevin Devericks.

Ms. Devericks was retired from Hazel Atlas Glass Factory where she worked in the Decorating Department.

Family and friends will be received at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Monday from 4-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM.
