Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm.   Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2015 at 11:00 am with Pastor Garry Layfield officiating.   Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Betty Jane Beachler, 88, of West Milford, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at her residence following a brief illness.

 

She was born in Shirley, WV on February 26, 1928, a daughter of the late Chapman and Delila Cain Kester.

 

She was married to John Gilford “Cub” Beachler on March 16, 1951, who preceded her in death on August 5, 2001.

 

Surviving are one son, John G. Beachler, II and his wife Heather of West Milford; one daughter, Deborah Pethel of Kansas; five grandchildren, Jamie Pethel, Stacy Pethel, Stephanie Pethel, John G. Beachler, III, and Jaycen Beachler; one brother, Arthur “Joe” Kester and his wife Patty of Shirley, WV; and one sister, Shirley Ann Ashcraft Smith of West Union.  She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Melissa Pethel and James David Pethel; one brother, Robert Wayne Kester;  and three sisters, Alice Gatto, Mabel McCune and Helen Kester.

 

Mrs. Beachler was a retired custodian with the Harrison County Board of Education.  She was a member of the Shirley UB Church since 1940 and attended Sardis Baptist Church.  Betty enjoyed embroidering, quilting, taking care of her grandchildren and going on trips.
