Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 1:30 pm with Reverend Dr. Ken Ramsey officiating.  Interment will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Clarksburg Mission, c/o Dr. Louis Ortenzio, 312 N. 4th Street, Clarksburg, WV  26301.

Bunie Edward Harper, 75, of Bridgeport, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, in the United Hospital Center.  He was born in Kayford, WV, on August 2, 1943, a son of the late Bunie G. Harper and Irene Yancey Harper, who survives in Leewood, WV.

 

In addition to his mother, he is also survived by his wife, Evelyn Anne Brown Harper, whom he married on December 23, 1966; one son, John Edward Harper of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother, Jason Drew Harper and his wife Ilene of Charleston; one sister, Leslie Harper Phillips of Leewood; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends and neighbors whom he considered beloved family.

 

Mr. Harper was a 1961 graduate of East Bank High School and graduated from WVU in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. He was a member of the CHi Epsilon National Civil Engineering Honor Society while at WVU. He served as a veteran in the United States Air Force from 1966 until 1969, and was honorably discharged as a Captain.

 

Mr. Harper began his career with PPG Industries and Bethlehem Mines Corporation.  He owned his own engineering and surveying business, Harper Engineering, Inc, and was city engineer for the City of Nutter Fort for many years.

 

Mr. Harper was a member of the T. Moore Jackson Chapter of the National Society of Professional Engineers, and was a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of WV. He was a dedicated man of   work to his engineering trade.
