In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Romano will be cremated.There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 126 E. Pike Street, Clarksburg, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11:00 am with Father Joseph Wiley as Celebrant.

Catherine Ann Romano, 90, of Bridgeport passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019 in the United Hospital Center.

 

She was born in Clarksburg on January 27, 1929 a daughter of the late Joseph E. Oliverio, Jr. and Angela Rose Romano Oliverio.

 

She was married to Joseph Romano, who preceded her in death in 1972.

 

Surviving are three children, Sue Gallant and her husband Warren of Angel Fire, NM, Angela Romano of Bridgeport, and John Romano of Bridgeport; one grandson, Joseph David Romano of Falls Church, VA; two sisters, Connie Harper of Yucca Valley, CA and Angela Rose Ihle and her husband Kenny of Centerville, TN; two brothers, Joseph E. Oliverio, Jr. and his wife Jeanne of Bridgeport and Paul Oliverio and his wife Judy of Fairfax, VA; and several nieces and nephews including Jill Florio and Rebecca Compton, who both loved to travel and visit with her.

 

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Juanita J. Hardwick.

 

Mrs. Romano was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and a graduate of Indiana State University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching, having taught in Indiana as well as Ashtabula, OH.

 

In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Romano will be cremated.
