Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. where services will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Brian Plum presiding.   Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Charles Timothy “Charlie” Petitto, 60, of West Milford, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, surrounded by loved ones, following an extended illness.

 

He was born on October 29, 1957, the son of the late Antonio (Tony) and Dora Plivelich Petitto.

 

Surviving are his companion, Rennah R. Shaffer with whom he made his home; daughter, Jennifer Ash of TN; son, Timothy Petitto of Weston, WV and several grandchildren.  He is also survived by one brother, Christopher Petitto and wife Jeannie of Stonewood, WV; sister-in-law, Karen Petitto; nieces, Sarah, Annie and Maggie, and nephew, Aaron Petitto all of West Milford, WV; a very special Aunt, Susan Randall of West Milford, WV; special friends who he considered his extended family, Jeff and Karson Barnhart of West Milford, and Chad, Jamie, Alex, Kyle and Gracie Barnhart of Mount Clare.

 

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Petitto.

 

Mr. Petitto was a 1976 graduate of South Harrison High School.  He was currently employed by Harrison County Board of Education.  Prior to working for the Board of Education, he worked alongside his father and brothers in the family business, Petitto Brothers and the Hide-A-Way.  He was a retired/lifetime member of West Milford Volunteer Fire Department and Harrison County Emergency Squad.

 

Charlie enjoyed attending fairs/festivals, traveling with Rennah, as well as just relaxing at home where they enjoyed each other’s company. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching South Harrison Athletics, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Alabama Crimson Tide.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family request that Memorial Contributions be made to: DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076, or Harrison County Elks Lodge 2875-Veterans Program, PO box 12, Anmoore, WV 26323.
