Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.   The service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dana Lanham presiding.   Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

David Ellis Cain, age 76, of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at his residence following an extended illness.

 

He was born in Clarksburg, on May 12, 1941, a son of the late Winfield Conway Cain and Delphia Ankrom Skalski Paul.

 

David is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce Kennedy Cain, whom he married on August 29, 1961.

 

He is also survived by one son, Timothy Cain of Sardis; three daughters, Tammy Lanham and husband John R. of Sardis, Traci McNemar and husband Kenny of Sardis and Tina Cain of Sardis; one brother Winfield Conway Cain, Jr. of Salem; two half-sisters, Linda Bowen of Stonewood and Rosemary Second of Sun Valley; six grandchildren, John David Lanham and wife Ashley of Rosemont, Matthew Lanham of Salem, Alexis Lanham of Sardis, Timothy D. Cain II of Sardis, Josh McNemar of Enterprise and Megan McNemar of Enterprise; two great grandchildren, Adriana Corder and Jackson Lanham and well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Andrew Cain; one half-sister, Judy Nicholson; and stepfather, Paul Skalski.

 

Mr. Cain was a glassworker with Fourco Glass # 88, and Methodist by faith.  He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

 

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Amedysis Hospice and all of their staff for  their wonderful care.
