Don L. Shepherd, 80, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020, at his residence with family by his side.

 

He was born on February 16, 1939 in West Milford, a son of the late James E. and Eulah Allen Shepherd.

 

Mr. Shepherd is survived by his son, James A. Shepherd and fiancé Selene of Clarksburg; daughter, Amber Jane Shepherd-Thompson and husband Chad of St. Petersburg, FL; two step-children, Kandy Chicarell-Green and wife Shannon of St. Petersburg, FL and Steven P. Chicarell of Henderson, Nevada; seven grandchildren, Hayle, Lynsie, Savanna, Jayden, Jada, Alexa and Lauren; two great-grandchildren, Lily and Stella; nephew Scott Martin, niece Kim Walls and several other nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Ruth Carol Carson and Mary Ann Liptak.

 

Don was a graduate of Lost Creek High School Class of 1958. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves 293rd Transportation. He retired from Thorofare/Foodland with over 30 years of service as a meat cutter. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Nutter Fort where he served as Deacon since 2012. He was a member of UFCW Meat cutters Union as well as the Moose Lodge #52. He was also a member of Mt. Clare Senior Satellite Group. He loved fishing, hunting, traveling and dancing. He was a dedicated Mountaineer fan.
